Presenting Hacienda Sacnicte, a colonial Mexican passion project of well-known French and Italian Hoteliers & Restauranteers inspired to restore the Hacienda to its original state, in 2008. The moment you pass through the decorative entry gates along the avenue of palm trees leading to the Hacienda, you enter a place where time stands still, where past meets present, and the romance and beauty of colonial Mexico truly ignites your soul.
The Hacienda is set in the picturesque Yucatan village of Izamal, Mexico, near the capital city of Merida.
Izamal is a ‘Pueblo Magico’ chosen for its beauty and charm. constructed with winding cobblestone streets and colonial lampposts the city is set on the remains of ancient temple pyramids. Izamal is also known as the ‘Yellow City,’ with most buildings painted yellow to honor an aspect of the Mayan sun god. The name Izamal means “dew that falls from the heavens.”
The Hacienda name, Sac-Nicte, means ‘Blanca Flor, ’ a white flower.
Many know of the legend of Princess Sac-Nicte and her mystical beauty. The Hacienda’s landscape is adorned with many lovely white flowers in her honor. Each of the guest suites is named after a different flower species.
This unique property and boutique resort offers traditional colonial Hacienda architecture that balances 17th-century architecture with modern convenience. The owners have created an unforgettable, serene atmosphere that invites guests to connect to the unique history and magic of the Yucatan.
